The good people at Wish Atlanta are set to unveil a new collection for late summer, inspired by the 20th anniversary of A Tribe Called Quest‘s classic Midnight Marauders album. Considering the basic elements of the golden age hip-hip group – the DJ, the emcee, and the street artist – Wish has produced a capsule collection that marries old school hip-hop with its torchbearers. By name, they are: Brandon Sadler, a local artist influenced by the canon of Japanese artwork; Curtis Williams, rapper and part of the burgeoning Two9 collective; and DJ Baby Yu, the international beat extraordinaire who has worked with Kanye West, Pharrell and Young Jeezy. Each of these personalities proudly channels Tribe’s spirit to usher Atlanta to the world, the way a certain Queens trio did their borough so many years ago. Enjoy the photos above, and be sure to pick up the pieces in the collection from Wish’s web store.
In addition to launching the T-shirt collection, Wish also linked up with DJ Mars, DJ Kerosene and DJ Trauma to curate a special Moreland Marauders free mixtape. Stream the mixtape below and download the Wish Moreland Marauders mixtape here.
