Danny Brown – ODB | Video

Detroit-based rapper Danny Brown has shown that he isn’t cut from the same cloth as today’s rap artists. He’s out to take advantage of rap’s new open-minded persona and revolutionize it; experiment with it and mold it into his own. That being said, he’s able to pay his respects to the greats who have come before him. In his video for “ODB,” Danny seems to channel the almighty Ol’ Dirty with outlandish, image-altering visual effects to seemingly superimpose himself with the late Wu-Tang legend. The visual accompaniment to the eerie, distorted track enhances the overall effect and clearly demonstrates Danny’s enigmatic spectrum while also paying homage to the rap game’s originators. The track will appear on his upcoming release, OLD, set for late September. Until then, enjoy the video above.
