Converse First String Jack Purcell "Boro"

Initially previewed back in June along with a slew of fall drops, today we bring forward a closer look to the Converse First String Jack Purcell “Boro.” Translated to mean rags or scraps of cloth, “boro” is a Japanese technique in which one takes recycled indigo cloths to repair certain garbs or household items to be worn or used again. It was a concept that originated out of necessity a few centuries ago when lower-class citizens couldn’t afford expensive silk garbs and needed their clothing to last a lifetime or even through future generations. Its extensive sewing and weaving process is obviously utilitarian, but it also produces something that is by definition extremely unique. Converse’s exclusive First String line chose to employ this time-honored technique on a pair of Jack Purcells. The result is an authentic mix of materials that come together to produce a model that will not only get softer, but also visually more appealing with age. Expected to arrive at select retailers like I.T, ExI.T and Juice on September 6, the Converse First String Jack Purcell “Boro” is priced at $1,099 HKD (approximately $142 USD).
