In 2006, Nike and Hong Kong streetwear brand, CLOT, released what would become one of the most sought-after Air Max 1‘s in recent memory. The Nike Air Max 1 NL Premium CLOT took its cues from both Chinese culture and traditional Chinese medicine, fusing suede, ostrich skin and snakeskin with clear plastic toe boxes for a unique, neck-breaking silhouette. Seven years later, both Nike and CLOT are ready with its follow-up — the Nike Air Max 1 CLOT SP — which takes the original’s Asian inspirations and updates them with Hyperfuse in a clean, modern colorway. The limited-edition kicks feature grey and white fused uppers, speckled soles and just a hint of green, while insoles and transparent outsoles reference its predecessor’s pressure point-influenced artwork. The Nike Air Max 1 CLOT SP is set to drop on September 1 in Shanghai — in the meantime, take an exclusive first look at the sneakers above and stay tuned for further information.
