Quickly after its 2007 opening in Shanghai, retail space ACU rose to the top of a sneaker market about to reach its peak. The shop, originally opened by entrepreneur Tom Chung, became the first store in China to offer Nike Tier-0 products to its consumer. Presently, Nike Sportswear has created 50 pairs of a special ‘collaborative’ shoe in celebration of ACU, the “old” Luwan District where it was based, and Chinese culture. Adopting the Lunar Force 1 as the silhouette, the sneakers feature elaborately embroidered red stitching along its tonal black satin upper, with ACU’s namesake etched into the heel. These features rest atop a black-to-red gradient Lunarlon outsole. The limited quantity of sneakers makes the ACU x Nike Sportswear Lunar Force 1 a bit challenging to find worldwide, but for now, enjoy a gander at the sneaker above.
