The Shanghai Film Museum by COORDINATION ASIA

Located inside a former film studio in downtown Shanghai is the new Shanghai Film Museum, which showcases the artistry and development of the industry from its early beginnings in 1896. With an emphasis on art and design, the museum was curated and composed underneath the creative direction of Tilman Thurmer — founder of the architectural agency, Coordination Asia. With over 70 interactive installations and numerous historic exhibits, the Shanghai Film Museum aims to act as a bridge between Shanghai Classic film enthusiasts and fresh faces in the world of Chinese Cinema, and is the first film museum in the artistically vibrant city.
