Transformed into the “Firmament Recruitment Center” with customized dog tags and limited edition canteens distributed to those recruits that made that grade, Berlin’s Firmament recently played host to Tetsu Nishiyama as the famed designer unveiled the upcoming WTAPS x Vans Vault collaboration for Fall 2013. Reinterpreting some of the most iconic Vans styles, the WTAPS founder and creative director gave the Sk8-Hi, Chukka Boot and Classic Slip-On the TET treatment with military-inspired designs that draw philosophies from Japan’s master craftsmen. Thus, the first ever collaboration between WTAPS and Vans’ Vault range sees the silhouettes with utilitarian canvas and suede construction in subtle shades of navy, olive, black and brown. Comprised of six different designs in all, a limited number of 50 pieces are available exclusively at Firmament ahead of the WTAPS x Vans Vault 2013 fall collection’s worldwide debut on August 15.
