Having mastered the art of forward-thinking menswear staples with technologically-inclined construction typically reserved for high-end sportswear, Outlier presents its latest piece: the Hypercity International Backpack. Created in conjunction with Hyperlite Mountain Gear, the design is meant to be the perfect balance of lightweight construction, durability and expandability. Crafted in Maine using Hyperlite’s signature non-woven Dyneema – a fabric with fibers 10x stronger than steel yet light enough to float on water – the backpack’s Cuben fibers are encapsulated in Mylar before being bonded to a polyester outer face. Whereas most Hyperlite bags come in a beautiful all-white look, Outlier elected to use an all-black colorway on the exterior while the interior’s stark white face makes it easier to see what’s inside. Finally, cast aluminum hardware appears throughout. Inspired by Hyperlite’s own Windrider and updated with a simple-yet-functional design perfect for the city-goer, the Outlier Hypercity International Backpack is now available online for $350 USD.
