315 Bowery Street in New York City is an important place. Formerly known as the location for the late, legendary music club CBGB, fashion label John Varvatos took over the space in 2006, already drawing inspiration from the slew of rock bands that once played in that very location. These roots come full circle in 315, a new imprint under John Varvatos – a conflation of streetwear influences with rock-inspired sensibilities. Here, 315 presents its inaugural footwear silhouette: the Mac Double Zip sneaker. Ostensibly a good match for, say, biker jackets and band tees, the Mac Double Zip sneaker comes outfitted with a one-piece half-treated calfskin upper. This part is garnished with a full chrome zipper at the side. These features rest atop a comfortable EVA midsole, working in combination with a distressed rubber outsole. This new piece from 315 is available on John Varvatos’ web shop for $498 USD.
