Detroit’s finances may be in dire straits but watchmaker Shinola appears to be in fine health with the launch of its first New York City flagship in TriBeCa. Stocking a full range of domestically-made watches, leather goods, bicycles and stationary, the Motor City company’s brand new, 2000-square-foot space features exposed brick walls, concrete floors, and a cafe run by The Smile, all of which deftly reflect the brand’s modern yet historic sensibilities. The watch enthusiasts at HODINKEE recently toured Shinola’s 177 Franklin Street location for a firsthand glimpse of the new store, snapping a few pics along the way. Check HODINKEE for a closer look and be sure to visit Shinola’s website for more information.
