Everlane Presents a Look Into Its Chinese Factories

Stateside manufacturing may be a source of pride for most brands, but it’s not often that we’re offered a glimpse into the murky world of overseas production. In what we hope becomes more of a trend, online retailer Everlane is providing a measure of transparency with a series of factory visits, the first of which kicks off in China. The world’s most populous nation has been leading the way in manufacturing — from furniture, to shoes, electronics and clothing — yet few of us, if any, have ever seen the inside of a Chinese factory. Traveling with a team of four — including founder, Michael — Everlane visits each of its Chinese production facilities in this latest feature, delving into the manufacturing processes, history and working lives of its overseas partners. Check Everlane Explores for a full breakdown of the visuals.
