Hosted at the Cordeliers cloisters outside of picturesque Bordeaux, the men of Hermés‘ spring/summer collection for 2014 allowed us to rethink previous conceptions of the refined French luxury label. Arranged with a casual elegance that upheld expectations of a polished collection, the garments evoked an easygoing attitude by avoiding bringing formal elements to the forefront. While the simplicity may have left aspects of the presentation overlooked, the choice of patterns and textures remained diverse, with the remainder of the collection locked down by greys, blues, and a shade of maroon used throughout. Subscribing to a rather safe approach for this season, Hermés did not fail to please with on-point slim-fitting silhouettes and a painlessly-understated direction at the core.
