BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS 2013 Spring/Summer Collection

BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS already sounds like the name of a band, so it’s only fitting that designer Masafumi Watanabe looked to jazz musician Chet Baker and the West Coast styles of the ’50s and ’60s for inspiration this season. Titled “Almost Blue,” after the Baker track, the collection features Watanabe’s signature Far East-meets-West aesthetic — updated Americana staples like solid and printed button-downs, colorful parkas, cardigans and chinos. Upping the ante in the authenticity department, meanwhile, is a collaboration with workwear legend, Dickies, on a trio of cropped “Tripster” work pants in black, khaki or green.
