When Brian Kelley isn’t seen in Tompkins Square Park blasting Full Cabs over a given obstacle, you might find him at various places around the world capturing his own unique perspective from behind a wide-angle lens. The New York-based photographer founded the bimonthly Steady Zine with fellow artists Dan Zvereff and Justin Hogan last year, in an attempt to revive appreciation for manual photography. Every issue of Steady has a theme, with this one being “Bodegas” – a colloquialism in New York that refers to corner stores that lend character to classic neighborhoods. The magazine worked with famed artist Grotesk to pair each photo with an original illustration. Enjoy a teaser for the zine below and look for the latest issue of Steady to appear at finer New York institutions such as DQM, Reed Space, Labor Skateshop and La Colombe.
