Lupe Fiasco – Animal Pharm

Controvery notwithstanding, Lupe Fiasco‘s core appeal lies in his intelligence, complex bar structure and acute awareness of pop culture. Fiasco revisits a certain Food & Liquor-esque style for his newest single, “Animal Pharm.” The track, released in light of the rapper’s upcoming Tetsuo & Youth LP, samples Atoms For Peace‘s droned out “Ingenue” in the background. Presumably a reference to George Orwell’s Animal Farm, a novel chiefly concerned with social upheaval, Lupe’s track covers a myriad of current events and attempts to connect several dots for listeners. Enjoy the song below.
