Medicom Toy‘s most recent collaboration sources an unlikely inspiration with Japanese mega messaging app LINE making the transition from in-app “stickers” to full-on 3D toys. LINE has taken much of Japan and select parts of the world by storm for its comprehensive messaging services and innovative model of monetization which relies heavily on the purchase of in-app additions such as stickers and credits. The capsule of toys includes some of LINE’s most popular characters including BROWN (the emotionless bear) and his counterpart CONY (the rabbit), as well as MOON and JAMES. The first drop of 100% Bearbricks will release on April 30 while a 400% BROWN will also release but ship in September. The Bearbricks will drop exclusively via FamilyMart’s faminma.com shopping site.
