In addition to being the #1 song in 46 countries, the Pharrell-assisted “Get Lucky” broke Spotify streaming records for the US and UK within 24 hours. The previous record holders for the US and UK respectively were “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and “Pompei” by Bastille. “Get Lucky” has managed to unify the musical taste of the world. It is the first single off of Daft Punk’s upcoming album, Random Access Memories, which is the French duo’s first studio album in eight years. The wait is almost over. Random Access Memories is set for release on May 17.
