It should not surprise anyone that Beyoncé and Jay-Z are one of the most powerful couples in show business. However, now we receive the official confirmation that Jay and Bey are reigning supreme on the financial side of things as they have reached a lucrative milestone this year, according to the International Business Times. Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been named the pop music industry’s first billionaire couple. While both have enjoyed equally successful careers, it’s assumed that Beyoncé’s current world tour and recent collaborations with global brands like Pepsi and H&M pushed the couples’ earnings over the billion dollar mark. The pop icon will make approximately $116 million from ‘The Mrs. Carter Show’ tour whereas her earnings from her upcoming H&M campaign are also estimated to be in the millions. Not to forget, Jay is reported to have sold over 50 million albums globally while his wife has earned 17 Grammy Awards, selling over 75 million albums worldwide. All of that has contributed to their title of Forbes‘ highest paid couple in 2012.
