Much in the way that award-winning media such as The Wire or Argo have portrayed both sides of the story behind civil unrest and rebellion, Leonard Menchiari looks to bring the idea to smartphones in a new video game: RIOT. The game, currently in production for iOS and Android users, brings protests, demonstrations and, of course, riots, to the necessarily pixilated realm of the small(er) screen. The game immerses players in the thick tension of public dispute, forcing them to make moral judgments from either side of the civilian/law enforcement schema. Menchiari seeks to crowdfund further development of the game through Indiegogo.
