Following the return of grey and navy colorways of the silhouette, New Balance introduces a black edition of its 990 for Spring 2013. Initially brought back late last year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original, the 990 was at the forefront of running footwear upon its debut three decades ago – from the silhouette’s forward-angled stance and reflective heel tab to its lightweight mesh and suede upper, the design ultimately served as the basis for future New Balance flagships. Like the previous two retro releases, this black colorway retains the look of the OG, even utilizing a rugged Vibram outsole and premium American-made construction.
