50 Cent’s career, that began with his wildly successful debut album Get Rich Or Die Trying, has seen the artist transition from rap icon to actor, investor, and in recent years entrepreneur. While you may no longer hear his tracks every time you turn on the radio, 50 Cent as a presence within the hip-hop community has not gone anywhere. What began as a group of friends assembling into a group called G-Unit has evolved into a full-fledged business operation with offices located in Manhattan. HYPETRAK had the opportunity to sit down with Mr. Jackson at the offices and discuss a wide range of topics, including his latest entrepreneurial ventures, his fifth studio album, what he describes as the “hipster states of hip-hop,” and of course the rapper’s undying knack for controversy.
