Jim James - A New Life (Live On Fallon)

Yesterday, Jim James, the renowned centerpiece of acclaimed rock band My Morning Jacket, released his debut solo album and it seems like the buzz surrounding it is only beginning. One of the reasons for the excitement is the Louisville native’s Monday night performance of his song “A New Life” on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, which ?uestlove has deemed “the most beautiful song I ever played on @LateNightJimmy.’ What makes it so great? Well, it’s not every day that we see a television performance go from simple acoustic guitar tapping to a full-on marching band for a genre-defying anthem that sounds like it was sketched out in the 1950s and finished in the ’70s.
