Frank Ocean – Forrest Gump Grammy Performance
Although Justin Timberlake reclaimed his rightful position atop the music industry with his return
Although Justin Timberlake reclaimed his rightful position atop the music industry with his return to the stage last night at the Grammy Awards, the talented Frank Ocean left the Staples Center an accomplished artist having put the world on notice of his unique, soulful sound. Besting Chris Brown and Miguel for Best Urban Contemporary Album as well as linking with The Throne and The-Dream to win Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “No Church in the Wild,” Ocean took to the stage towards the end of the show to perform “Forrest Gump.” As Forrest runs through his mind, the Channel Orange maestro stood behind a waist-high keyboard stand that projected an image of his bottom half running down a secluded desert highway. With his signature headband and a bright yellow suit on, Ocean concluded his performance with a whistling solo as he turned to exit the stage.
