Christopher Shannon 2013 Spring/Summer Lookbook

Feb 21, 2013  /  Style  /  2530 Views

This season, Christopher Shannon was inspired by English folklore and the arcane practices of the ’70s. Photographs by James Pearson-Howes taken during summer festivals were a starting point, as were the unpredictable, often zany outfits of its attendees. In Shannon’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection, this was translated to embroidered details, elasticized shorts, frayed denim jackets and patchwork panels that, along with the 3D flowers pasted onto models’ faces, evoked the Summer of Love and regional folk dancers. Elsewhere, colors and patterns were vibrant and eclectic — there were Ying and Yang symbols, hearts and iron-on patches on denim — while silhouettes were kept simple, but textured and layered.
