HYPEBEAST recently had the chance to take the new Sony Cyber-shot DSC-QX100 for a spin around Hong Kong. An innovative lens-style camera, the DSC-QX100 works by linking with your smartphone via Wi-Fi to create both high quality images and HD video. Once paired to your iOS or Android device, you can detach the lens and use it independently, giving you the ability to shoot from just about any angle and provide new creative opportunities. It packs a 20.2 effective megapixel 1.0” Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor, 28-100mm equivalent 3.6x optical zoom F1.8-4.9 lens, Optical SteadyShot and various manual controls into its body. All of these functions can be controlled while you frame your shot using your smartphone. The DSC-QX100 currently retails for £399 GBP (approximately $655 USD) while its more economical younger brother the DSC-QX10 is available for £179 GBP (approximately $295 USD).
