In a recent article with Heron Preston for The New York Times, the founder of Been Trill and creative behind Kanye’s DONDA collective shared his big break, claim to fame, and his latest project with Nike to host a week-long music and arts festival in Shoreditch, London. Whilst speaking on his recent endeavors, the article also mentions the opening of Been Trill’s first boutique – a small outpost located on Canal Street and Broadway, New York. Following from the launch of the New York outpost, Preston says that they’ll look to open up stores in Los Angeles and Hong Kong. “We’re literally up in one of those rinky-dink souvenir malls, across from us they sell pipes and bongs and cellphone cases and fake purses,” Mr. Preston said. “We’re smack dab in the middle of that and we couldn’t be happier.” Naturally, there would be an opening party, but only five or six people can fit in the shop at once. “We’ll have it at Le Baron,” Mr. Preston suggested, referring to the nearby nightclub.
