Mercedes-Benz returns to our pages after our recent HYPEBEAST Spaces visit with the unveiling of the newly designed C-Class for 2014. Now into its third decade, next year’s compact luxury sedan aims to broaden the gap between the German carmaker’s entry-level A-Class with a longer as well as wider body and increased cargo capacity. Unlike the forthcoming E-Class and S-Class models however, the 2015 C-Class doesn’t offer a radically redesigned exterior, yet it does provide a few subtle upgrades that brings a slightly more modern appeal to the younger generation. Adversely, its interior cabin looks considerably more luxurious thanks to the inclusion of more premium materials, a wraparound dashboard with three circular air vents, and a free-standing screen that replaces many of the buttons that were previously incorporated. Additionally, next year’s upgrade weights up to 220 lbs less than its outgoing model with a lower center of gravity, thus reducing fuel consumption by twenty percent and bringing about a sportier handling experience. What’s more is this vehicle will be the first in its line to offer the optional self-leveling ARMATIC air suspension which is electronically controlled on both axles. At launch the 2015 C-Class will be available with three engine types, with many more variations to come over the next year.
