Philippe Starck Designs Netatmo’s Smartphone-Controlled Thermostat

Phillipe Stark has partnered with Paris-based electronics firm Netatmo in creating a device to remotely monitor energy consumption in the home. A company that specializes in cutting-edge consumer technology and apps, this time around Netatmo’s imaginings manifest via a thermostat that can be controlled from the convenience of one’s smartphone. Customizing temperature to suit the user’s daily routine, a small gadget transmits measurements to the corresponding app and will make adjustments based on sleep duration, time spent out of the house, and other factors to tweak the temperature accordingly.
