Nike has recently unveiled the Brazil National Team’s home kit for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Without straying away from the culture, tradition and identity of the iconic jersey, Nike has updated the host nation’s uniform with a slimmer and more tailored silhouette. Standout alterations include a new Y-neck design, as well as an updated Brazilian Football Confederation crest with a gold metallic weave for a shimmer effect. The spirit and pride of the Verde-Amarela is captured through subtle details such as the “Born to Play Football” slogan – “Nascido para jogar futebol” - embossed on the inside of the crest, in addition to a small yellow canary motif found on the inner back neck of the jersey. Technical features include Nike’s Dri-FIT technology, burnout mesh, laser-cut ventilation holes and dual-knit fabrication, which work in unison for a softer, more natural feel. Perhaps the most impressive aspect, however, is that each kit – shirt, short and socks - is made from an average of 18 recycled plastic bottles. The Brasil National football kit is available for pre-order at Nike’s online store and will go on sale worldwide on December 5 at Nike retailers.
