Being the brainchild of two respected footwear experts – Jon Buscemi and Ryan Babenzien – GREATS was destined for a life in the spotlight from its inception. The footwear brand takes a Warby Parker-style approach to footwear retail – selling directly to the consumer and minimizing overhead – which results in premium leather sneakers at a relatively low price. The first run of sneakers ran out quickly after the official launch, and with demand for a second release running high, GREATS seems off to a great start. The company’s next move involves a pop-up shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, adding physicality to the brand experience.
