Dr. Romanelli recently unveiled his 200-piece collabo with Coca-Cola, bringing together both a cultural icon and a master of revitalizing vintage styles. The collection includes driving jackets, lab coats, button-down tunics and tie-dye shirts that are constructed out of handmade Coke workwear dating all the way back to the ’40s. Himself an avid collector of vintage Coke clothing, DRx sourced much of the garments used himself and though he has updated the garments for the collection, he has also preserved the legacy of the deliverymen, factory workers and restaurant servers of the time by keeping their names stitched onto every garment. The collection will make its way to Opening Ceremony in New York and London, Juice Hong Kong, colette Paris, and to UNITED ARROWS Japan as well as number of smaller boutiques. While this collection in particular focuses primarily on apparel, this is allegedly only Phase 1 of the project with the Dr. himself hinting that there will be more to come.
