Rooted in pop culture, Dave White, who’s previously been touted as the UK’s Andy Warhol, presents a new set of work at London’s Lawrence Alkin Gallery. Titled “Aquatic,” the exhibition is a continuation of the “Natural Selection” project, where White tempers with the dynamism, movement and presence of wild animals. In “Aquatic,” White applies vibrant hues to fluid and expressive brushwork, amalgamating fine art with animation. Presenting a selection of original watercolor prints, some of which feature 24 carat gold and pure platinum leaf, “Aquatic” departs from sneakers and fictional heroes as central theme, and explores the endearing creatures of the deep sea. “Aquatic” will be showing from November 15 to December 7.
