The Armstrong Lie, directed by Alex Gibney, picks up a project that the filmmaker abandoned back in 2009 that documented Lance Armstrong‘s final comeback and his attempts at winning an unprecedented eighth Yellow Jersey. Amid doping allegations, public accusations and investigations, Armstrong eventually admitted to the use of performance-enhancing drugs, which led to an onslaught of hatred and scrutiny from the wider public. Once viewed as a larger than life figure, as well as one of the most intimidating personalities in sport, this documentary provides further insight into the life of Lance Armstrong over the past four years. While many unforgiving fans and critics may view this to be a publicity stunt in an attempt to revive the image of Armstrong, there is no denying that this title will offer an intriguing account of events. With The Armstrong Lie opening in cinemas on November 8th 2013, be sure to check out the trailer.
