Lotuff – a New England-based purveyor of fine, handmade leather goods – introduces its first foray into the toting realm of backpacks with a full-leather construction that resembles its signature briefcase line. When designing this exquisite piece, its design team wanted to produce something that would not only be appropriate for a professional setting, but also sturdy enough to take a daily beating – whether you’re a style-conscious commuter or traffic-dodging bike messenger. Specifically, the Lotuff backpack is made of soft, unlined vegetable-tanned leather and solid brass accents. While its interior boasts three separate vertical compartments as well as a small zip pocket, its exterior sees a six-inch pocket with zipper closure at its top for items that need to be accessed quickly. Lastly, an 11-inch pocket was discreetly added to its back wall to secure items like a tablet or small laptop. Currently available through the Lotuff webstore for $1,200 USD in chestnut, chocolate and black, the leather maker produced the below video to showcase how this Leather Backpack was conceived and manufactured.
