Converse recently announced its first-ever collaboration with Tokyo’s NEIGHBORHOOD. The First String collection takes two of Converse’s iconic staples, the Jack Purcell Johnny Mid and the All Star Chuck ‘70 Ox, and gives them a special treatment for the inaugural team effort. The Jack Purcell appears in a deep petrol blue leather with tonal stitching while the All Star Chuck ‘70 boasts a royal blue suede upper with white contrast stitching. NEIGHBORHOOD likewise contributes its own creative vision while appreciating their original heritage, offering subtle contributions to both models in the form of a tonal woven heel strip on the back of each sneaker and dusting off the laces with branded metal tips.
The sneakers will retail for $120 and will release in limited quantities to Union in Los Angeles and El Garito de Converse in Madrid on October 25 before reaching select Converse First String outlets worldwide on November 1. The collection will also be dropped exclusively at HOODS in Hong Kong and Beijing on October 26.
