Another release following the “Year of the Snake” motif comes as a part of Stussy Japan‘s latest collection, this time incorporating Vans‘ classic Sk8-Hi model for a collaborative shoe. With previews of a snakeskin-themed capsule collection surfacing a couple of weeks ago, Stussy Japan follows up on its celebration of the Chinese new year with an admittedly stylish footwear offering. The “Year of the Snake” Sk8-Hi features a canvas snakeskin upper, accented with a red Jazz Stripe along the side. Additionally, black laces, a gum rubber outsole, white rubber foxing, and custom detailing at the heel and tongue complete the shoe. Look for the “Year of the Snake” Sk8-Hi at select Stussy Japan stockists in the coming season.

HYPEBEAST Eats… Haccho Miso Katsudon by Chef Daisuke of Guu Garden

A destination that blends an uncommonly comfortable atmosphere with authentic Japanese oden dishes, Guu Garden is one of six izakaya style restaurants located in Vancouver. Set in a sheltered corner of downtown, the garden motif is preserved by notiable verdure and terrace seating. Dish sizes range from small to moderate to encourage sharing, and in keeping with the tone of traditional cuisine offered at all Guu restaurants, this time we ordered the Haccho Miso Katsudon prepared by Chef Daisuke. Illustrating the versatility of miso seasoning, this fried pork cutlet is served on a bed of rice and comes accompanied by a half-boiled egg.
