Seiko Prospex Landmaster Miura Everest 2013

Dubbed “The Godfather of Extreme Skiing” by the Smithsonian, 80-year-old Japanese alpinist Yuichiro Miura holds the privileged distinction of being the first man to ski down Mt. Everest when he accomplished the feat in 1970. In celebration of this legendary individual and his attempt to climb Everest for a third time despite his advanced age, Seiko introduces the Seiko Prospex Landmaster Miura Everest 2013. Featuring a matte black dial with hour-markers and hour and minute hands with luminescent white coating, the watch has a 46mm titanium case and boasts Seiko’s innovative “Spring Drive” technology via the 5R66 movement. The watch comes in a special presentation package with a message from Miura and a soft strap with “Miura Everest 2013″ patch on it. The latest from Seiko is reserved to 300 pieces and will retail for $4,460 USD. For those interested in Miura’s epic pickling of Everest back in 1970, the entire experience was captured in an Academy Award-winning documentary in 1975 called The Man Who Skied Down Everest.
