With locations already in New York and Tokyo, Saturdays Surf NYC now announces the opening of another store in Japan: Kobe. Japan’s fifth-largest city is a port city with a rich sea heritage, now adding a hint of quintessential American surf culture to its makeup. Saturdays, which first opened its doors in New York City’s West Village in 2009, has enjoyed a period of growth and celebration over the course of its brief history. The brand was listed in April 2012 as one of GQ‘s “Best New Menswear Designers.” The store design will take Saturdays’ casual, handmade aesthetics and translate it for the Japanese market. In addition to their line of apparel, the new store will include an espresso bar. The Saturdays Surf NYC Kobe location is targeted to open in April 2013.
