Kendrick Lamar – Backseat Freestyle | Video

Kendrick Lamar unveils the visuals to accompany his Hit-Boy-produced track “Backstreet Freestyle.” While the treatment is lo-fi in nature, the song’s religious and hedonistic themes remain prevalent throughout. The video opens with shots of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France which serves as a main lyrical point of the track, while midway through sees one of the album’s now famous ‘Dominoes’ interludes included. More savvy viewers might also notice the 40 Oz Van “LA” snapback which K-Dot wears during key scenes. Ultimately the video is humble yet effective in depicting one of the many powerful tracks from Lamar’s critically lauded LP, good kid, m.A.A.d city.
