Issey Miyake updates the present while imagining the future with its 2013 fall/winter collection, which looked to promote a large degree of freedom amid colder temperatures. Covering a very wide gradient of looks and color selections, we see distinct Japanese streetwear influences in the particular baggy fits and shorts paired with leggings, and very strong lines in some of the sportier options.
But after passing by the range of suits, some more contemporary and others with not-so-subtle accents, there is a significant departure from the norm with bright colors and highly reflective foil-like sheens, bright rich colors, and innovative uses of functional materials such as thermal fleece and the material used in emergency blankets.
