Japanese accessory label hobo gives us a peek at the painstaking process by which they derive their ornate silver jewelry. The traditional artisanal process of handcrafting each piece involves hours of intermittent high heat and cooling, hammering and shaping, and clearly a great deal of patience. With loving persistence and considerable skill, each tiny piece of jewelry comes to life in the silversmith’s dexterous fingers. Therein lies the difference between hand-wrought and machine-made–one’s a piece of art, the other’s not.
