History repeats itself in the newly released preview for Acne‘s Fall/Winter 2013 collection. The range, which includes reinterpretations of the slim trouser, the derby hat, the sport coat, and more, draws its inspiration from August Strindberg – the famed modernist Swedish artist. His self-portraits impressed upon Johnny Johansson, the creative director of Acne, who then adjusted Strindberg’s portrayal of the 19th century gentleman for modern pursuits. The result is a strong collection of garments that place special importance on luxurious texture and fits. Exaggerated lengths are contrasted with slim profiles in shirts and jackets. While staying true to Acne’s subtle aesthetic, the new 2013 line also features some nice historical twists.
