The Fitzroy Lodge Boxing Club On Film

For over 100 years, the Fitzroy Lodge has been a safe environment for competitive boxers to train and compete, fostering discipline, respect, honor, self-control, and a healthy lifestyle. Founded by Mick Carney, who passed away just one year ago, the club located under the arches of Waterloo station has perhaps most importantly taught hosts of at-risk youth what it means to “be your own person.” Following from PORT magazine’s issue 7 boxing feature, this short film shows the club in action, in the process displaying the discipline and camaraderie taught within the lodge’s walls.
