Apple x Leica? Rumors of Jonathan Ive Designing a Camera for 2013

Legendary Apple designer Sir Jonathan Ive is rumored to be designing a limited edition Leica camera. According to PetaPixel, Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, president of the German camera maker, said at a special event this week that a limited version of the new Leica M will be in fact crafted by the storied designer and then put up for auction. Many speculate this will be a one-off project — and sure to fetch a pretty penny for charity given Ive’s accolades as the “smartest designer in tech” by Forbes Magazine, Designer of the Year by the Design Museum London, and Royal Designer for Industry by The Royal Society of Arts.
