Casio G-Shock 2012 GAC-100 Series

While the G-Shock long has, and will always be a digital watch with unbeatable toughness, Casio has recognized consumer demand for that same toughness in its analog offerings as well. Many of the newest and most notable G-Shock releases are not mere limited colorway editions, but entirely new and impressive timepieces in their own right. The new GAC-100 series of G-Shock watches falls into this category. The GAC-100 is a quartz-powered analog chronograph with a bevy of indestructible features that are certain to make it a hit within the military. Designed to resemble the bombproof hatch on a submarine, the shock-resistant resin case is also anti-magnetic and water-resistant to 200 meters (660 feet), due in part to the watch’s screw-down crown and caseback. And while most G-Shocks tend to rely on a user-actuated internal illumination system, the GAC series of watches feature luminous paint on the hands and major indices to ensure passive and consistent readability in low-light conditions. Three colorways of the GAC-100 will be available when it makes landfall sometime in September.
