NOWNESS: Zuma Featured in the Film Wabi-Sabi

Jul 20, 2012  /  Lifestyle  /  1456 Views

Known for everything from its delicious handcrafted sushi and robata grill dishes to its desserts, contemporary Japanese restaurant Zuma and German chef/founder Rainer Becker’s creations are highlighted in this new short film. Dubbed “Wabi-Sabi,” the film was created using the still life photography of Thomas Brown in a stop-motion animation and highlights the work of the London hotspot’s Head Chef, Soon Li Ong. Known for its sophisticated take on the informal Japanese “izakaya” style of dining – which features a stream of dishes that are continuously brought out to the table’s guests – the celebrity-frequented Zuma originally opened in London’s Knightsbridge in 2002 and has since expanded to include additional locations in Miami, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Dubai and Bangkok.
