F.C. Real Bristol, or F.C.R.B. as it is known as, was fathered by SOPH.’s Hirofumi Kiyonaga back in 1999 with the aim to create a limited edition soccer-styled line that would allow him the chance to design pieces that expressed his love for the game, while also being practical and fully suited to being used on the field. Now, with the help of Masaaki Honma, Kiyonaga plans to take the brand to the next level with this special collaboration with mastermind JAPAN. Embracing the sporting aesthetic of F.C.R.B., the products offered up range from training setups that include shorts, warmup pants and jackets, to more robust outerwear such as duffel coats and down vests and jackets. Each item has been produced in two different designs, with the classic white MMJ Skull motif edition available only at SOPH. stores and the Jacquard MMJ Skull version at all other F.C.R.B. retailers. While opting for a primarily white-on-black colorway, a couple of pieces will also be released in a special original camo design which has been created by combining the camouflage patterns already used individually by the two brands. Perhaps the best news for prospective buyers is that the price point has been set firmly at the F.C.R.B. end of things, with items costing from ¥6,300 JPY (approximately $80 USD) to ¥71,400 JPY (approximately $900 USD). Expect the F.C.R.B. x mastermind JAPAN 2012 fall/winter capsule collection to be in select stores this August.
