LEGO Sets Up Life-Sized Forest in Australian Outback

LEGO celebrates half a decade down under with fun brick initiatives including the Festival of Play, and the world’s largest LEGO set courtesy of Google Chrome. Most recently, a life-sized LEGO forest has sprouted forth overnight in the Australian outback. In a unique reserve called Living Desert in Broken Hill, residents were shocked by the 15 13-foot-tall pine trees and 15 iconic LEGO flower sets “growing” out of their barren red soil on July 2. The installation will remain until July 12, and forms part of the nine-month schedule of creative events and elaborate installations celebrating LEGO’s 50th anniversary in Australia.
