Following an initial preview, Cartier delivers more intimate details about their ID Two Concept Watch – a five-year labor of love worked on by more than 135 specialized engineers. Behind-the-scenes photographs from their manufacturer in La Chaux de Fonds reveal a watch that is cased entirely in a transparent ceramic that has been vacuum-sealed to reduce air friction. The result is a timepiece that produces 30% more power and consumes only half as much as a traditional watch – providing for a 32-day power reserve in just a 42mm case. Dubbed a “game changer” by many watch specialists, both the design and energy efficiency make the latest from Cartier truly a modern marvel.
