As part of the ever-changing landscape presented during E3, Microsoft today unveiled a bold new vision for consuming entertainment at home and on the go with Xbox SmartGlass. Launching this year, SmartGlass is an application for Windows-based technology that connects phones, PCs and tablets with the Xbox 360 to make entertainment smarter and more interactive. Segueing entertainment from one device to the other, Xbox clearly sees the value in having its users always connected and dialed in to various channels and portals they enjoy exploring. In speaking about the latest bit of technology, President of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft Don Mattrick commented, “Xbox is on a mission to make the entertainment that you love even more amazing. With Xbox SmartGlass, we are lighting up entertainment across your phone, tablet, PC and TV in a completely new way. If you love to play games, watch TV and movies, surf the Web, or listen to music, there has never been a better time to be on Xbox.” With the recently unveiled Nintendo Wii U “Gamepad,” there’s clearly a push towards a one-stop-shop type of entertainment control.
